This article covers how Trader Joe's refuses to bargain in good faith with the union and has been avoiding communications with the union on several occurrences. Starting from changing dates of availability and times, rejecting proposals from the union, and not allowing the union to have joint bargaining between two stores. Trader Joe's has also been accused of union busting because they close a wine store briefly after a group of workers were discussed and plans to unionize (Moran, 2022). The truth is rejected proposals for paid release, which would have allowed workers to be paid to bargain and negotiate outside of work hours. By doing this several employees were not able to participate because they could not afford to miss work (Moran, 2022). Several areas where Trader Joe is did not bargain in good faith with their employee's union representatives for example by failing to meet the union at reasonable times and reasonable intervals (Bargaining in good faith with employees' union representative. n.d.).
