This assignment is an opportunity to be creative and practice the guidelines described in Chapter 8, Systems Analysis and Design. There are two parts to this so read carefully and then have some fun!

Instructions:

Read the following scenario and complete the three tasks.

Scenario

The Odebolt Appliance Store offers a service repair for any appliance that was purchased at their store for a fee. The fee is based on time spent at the customers location and is billed in quarter hours. You have been asked to create an app where the repair person can record the start time of a job and end time. Once the number of minutes is calculated, the repair person can either accept that time or adjust it. The information then is tied to the customer repair ticket.

Task 1: Think about how you might design the interface. Then, design the worst interface you can think of. It should have 5 bad design features.

To design the interface, you can:

• Hand draw and take a picture of it. Use dark colors and sharpies to make it easily viewable;
• or use a paint tool (save as a jpg please);
• or use any screen painting tool but you need to save what you design as pdf or jpg.

Task 2: Describe the 5 bad design features in a document separate from your user interface.

basic requirements only. keep it simple, not enhanced. think of creating an interface on paper that will have bad design features and flaws to it. nothing complex.
