This assignment is designed to assess your groups ability to effectively plan all aspects of a project, from the Business Case through the planning and costing stages, as well as stakeholder and risk management. The planning process will take place across weeks of this semester, culminating in a final submission of a complete project plan and project presentation.
You will work in groups of students to complete this project. Groups will be chosen on your own, and there are no provisions for working alone.
All students must have a group selected by the beginning of week two.
BACKGROUND
The project centers around the planning of a oneday welcoming event for new incoming international students joining the Global and International Business Management program in September
The college expects around students and is willing to finance the Oneday welcoming event The maximum funding available is $ CAD. The college is willing to appoint you as the project team to plan the event and provide a complete plan for this event the project plan and the list of required documents are provided below
The event should be held in early September in the Cambrian College student center and also include a bus tour to show Sudbury to the newcomers.
The suggested activities are the following feel free to use your imagination and creativity:
Welcoming speechmeeting professors college tour.
Bus tour buses to visit the various places of your choice in Sudbury with the optional visit of Science North or Dynamic Earth each team decides the details and duration of the trip
Evening party.
Each group will have to develop a business case and justify the choice of one of the options. Once the business case is presented at the Client meeting for approval by the Client your professor the work can begin on the project.
