This is a 5 page assignment not including the title page or the bibliography page, it should be 5 pages of content. This assignment is due on Sunday, November 17 and you will submit it in Canvas as a doc or pdf file. The paper needs to be submitted in a doc or pdf file. It should have a Title page, be double spaced all throughout, typical font (i.e., Times New Roman) size 12, 1 inch margins top/bottom and right/left. Within the body of the paper it should have abbreviated citations when appropriate (i.e. author's last name, year, page) while in the bibliography page it should be a full citation. You will need at least 2 sources for this paper, no more than that are needed. They could be a book, an academic journal, a news media article (if using a news media article, only one of your sources can come from that, the second source would come from a book or academic journal piece. There is a separate module in Canvas specifically covering this assignment as well. Should you have any questions about this assignment whatsoever, don't hesitate to ask, I am here to help and want you to earn a high grade. Write a paper in which you recount a political event that left a significant impact in the way you look at politics. It could be an event related to Local, State, or National politics. Speculate about how that event or issue may have shaped your views towards government and politics. Did it leave you cynical? Idealistic? Apathetic? Include in your paper a discussion of which political socialization agents have shaped the formulation of your political opinions while growing up. Political Socialization agents are those that influence us throughout our lifetime, they can include: the family, school, the media, peer groups, religious organizations, etc. You can take a couple of approaches here, one would be to discuss the event and separately discuss how you have been politically socialized, or secondly, discuss how you were politically socialized in relation to the political event you chose. NOTE: Since this is an American Politics course, the assignment has to cover a political event that you have experienced within the American Political system, involving US Politics/US Government. NOTE: Late papers will be accepted, however the penalty for a late paper as noted in the syllabus, will be lowered by a letter grade. The last day to submit a late paper is on Saturday, December 14, the last official day of our fall semester. If submitting a late paper, I would encourage you not to wait until that day
