This chapter focuses a lot on strategies and structure and management and union responses to those elements. We know responses to perceived injustices in the workplace are typically handled in one of five ways: 1) quitting, 2) individual voice les complaining), 3) collective voice (e.g., forming a union), 4) resistance (0.g., absenteeism), and 5) silence. We have nine people in this class. For this discussion, I'd like for each of you to choose ONE of these five responses (this means that 4 of the 5 responses will have two participants) and discuss how union strategies, managerial strategies, AND the external environment would lead you to the response you chose.
