This is a simulation exercise. Each team will choose a role of only one of the UNION or the EMPLOYER in the Case of the Town Plaza Hotel.

In this arbitration simulation, the procedure will be as follows:

Statements to the Arbitrator:

These are $2-3$ page statements outlining the position of the UNION or the EMPLOYER in regard to the discharge of E$.$ Myers at the Town Plaza Hotel. It is presented to the Arbitrator $($me$,$ the Instructor$)$ who will make the final decision for the E$.$ Myers case.

Statements should explain to the Arbitrator $($me$,$ the Instructor$)$:

$$ What the case is about,

$$ What can be learned from this case,

$$ The issues to be decided by the arbitrator, and

$$ The position of your side of the argument

The final part of the statement must:

$$ persuasively summarize the argument of your side,

$$ what needs to be changed, and

$$ why it ought to be accepted.
