This is a two-part question. For the first part, you need to report to social services your suspicions based on the speculations you have on a student for substance use. To whom do you refer and what will this referral say? What are the signs and symptoms that are occurring?

For the second part, the student comes back from your referral with a diagnosis. You are to work with this student at your school. Based on the theories and etiology of addictions and addictive behaviors, including any crisis or traumas, describe some strategies or interventions thatyou as the school counselor will implement.
