I am interested in exploring the music culture of the Chinese American community in my city. I am particularly interested in the role of music in Chinese American identity and how Chinese American musicians have adapted and transformed traditional Chinese music to fit their new cultural context.

Prepare a list of at least 3 questions to ask the musicians you are observing or joining with to participate in music making. These need to be separate questions from the research questions you explored during Week 6. Think of open-ended questions that will encourage the musicians to share significant information about their experiences making music. After you create the Interview Questions, write a few sentences about the preparations you have made for compiling your observations of music making as a participant or observer. Where are you in the process? Are all of your preparations in place? You will receive feedback so you will know that you are on the right track before completing the final version of your Fieldwork Project during Week 8
