This is not a public reflection, as your peers will not see it. It is a short essay based on examples and reflection on these examples. We talked about how evidence interacts with theories. You provide in this assessment a case that contains:
1 Two theories T1 and T2 that are competing for explaining and predicting a phenomenon P.
2 One evidence E that is related to phenomenon P.
I want to see a clear case in which evidence E can be used to rule out one theory and confirm the other. Explain their connection as: confirmation, falsification, corroboration, or a weak connection. These are relations between T1,t2 and E. You need to explicitly use the notation T1,T2,E and P.
Use an example from science, not from technology or from every-day life!
Example (DO NOT USE IT! This is a simple example, not your example)
T1= "mask M is not useful in preventing the spread of COVID19"
T2= "mask M is useful in preventing the spread of COVID19"
P= "spread of COVID-19"
E= "a lab in X country or at U university showed that the droplets of sneeze are blocked by M''
Then you explain in a couple of lines what are the connections between T1,T2 and E.
Instructions and suggestions:
DO not use examples from slides or from readings.
In most cases I want to see two different theories T1 and T2
Extra credit: explain what is exactly the relation between P and E.
It is OK to document cases like this online. But do not simply copy-paste text from the Internet. Use your own words to discuss these theories and example
do NOT attach files, just use the box "Write Submission" to write your text.
