This is the first one
Instructions:
Choose a binomial probability experiment. You could flip a coin, or toss a
basketball from the free throw line and see if you make the shot or miss,
or choose another experiment where the outcome is a success or failure
(only two possible outcomes.)
1) Make a guess about the probability of success before doing the
experiment.
2) Repeat the experiment 50 times, and record the results.
3) Calculate the empirical probability of success, and compare it to your
original guess. Were you close or were you far off?
4) Write paragraph explaining how you did the experiment and comparing
your results to your guess.
5) SAVE YOUR DATA, PLEASE! You will use the data again for Next PROJECT
THIS IS THE SECOND ONE
Instructions:
Use the results of The previous Project
Recall that you performed a binomial probability experiment 50 times.
In This project you will calculate a 99% Confidence Interval for the true
probability of success, a 95% Confidence Interval, and a 90% Confidence
Interval.
Which of these intervals contain your original guess? None of them? All
of them? Was your original guess accurate or inaccurate? Write
paragraph to explain.
