This mandatory assignment will be due early to mid-April and is valued at 10% of the learners final course grade. Please follow the procedure outlined below.

  1. Students will research a topic related to travel. The topic must be approved by their instructor and fall within PIRS OF1101 major topics. These may include topics such as international travel, travel considerations, how to handle travel delays, staying connected with the office during travel, etc., to name just a few.

  1. The primary focus of this common assessment tool (CAT) is to assess students ability to conduct basic research and summarize their findings.

  1. The research and summary will be done individually, not in student groups. Students should summarize their research and not do direct cut/copy/paste from sources.

  1. The final research summary document will NOT be a formal report since students will not be very experienced in report preparation in this first-year course. However, their findings should be 3 4 double-space pages in length in addition to a cover page and list of references (APA or MLA style not required, just a list of websites and resources used).
