this passage require critical analysis and breakdown
This topic in near and dear to me. As a Service Administrator and as described by Jacobs & Chase, 2020, my role is to plan, direct, and control resources (people, equipment, material) to meet the demands of ER, ICU, and CCU, the departments under my directorship. If this was a challenge before, it is above and beyond challenging right now because our hospital is at 51% COVID-19 patient capacity. Three of the major capacity considerations for us right now are beds, healthcare providers, and supplies/equipment. We are over capacity in all of these areas. Our neighbors in Houston and our Federal Government have sent us nurses and doctors to help us with healthcare and we are also receiving much needed supplies and we are still struggling. In a factory, capacity considerations are similar as they also deal with labor, material, and equipment. Factories produce physical, tangible goods that can be stored in inventory before they are needed. The difference between a factory and a hospital is that factories do not deal with life and death situations as hospitals do. Shortage of capacity in hospitals can be the difference between life and death for patients.
