This project will require students to recall a past visit to a business and conduct a quick assessment of the business's cost structure using activity-based costing methodologies. Instructions:

Students will recall a past visit to a business and identify a minimum of 4 cost pools and at least 2 possible cost drivers for each pool. The student will also identify each cost pool as either a fixed cost or a variable cost. The student will also reflect on the service provided.

The student will write a 3 to 5-page report on their experience from the time they entered the business to the time they left.

Report Requirements:

Each student will submit a 3 to report addressing the following:

a. Description of your business hours of operation, Estimate of Max Occupancy, Type of food offered, Services provided (take out and/or drive-through), and description of the plan.

b. Summary of your experience as a customer how long did it take to get seated, what steps did you need to perform to order and receive your food, how long did you stay at the restaurant and what was your customer experience like.

c. Identify your cost pools.

d. Identify your cost drivers.

e. Reflection: What did you like about the experience? What suggestions for improvement would you offer the business owner?
