This task requires you to identify two (2) children under the age of 24 months and prepare a report on how you would care for and nurture the development of these two children. One child should be around 6 months of age and other 12 - 24 months (please be specific in your report about the ages. If you are currently working in an ECEC, or undertaking your work placement, you can select two (2) children that you are currently working with. However, please do not identify them by their name or date of birth. If you are not working or have not commenced your work placement, you will need to prepare a report in a hypothetical sense.

Using observation and monitoring to settle new babies and toddlers.

Appropriate interaction with children and their caregivers

Engaging in one-to-one interactions with babies and toddlers during daily routines

How you would support the learning of babies and toddlers by:

Responding appropriately to their cues and language

Initiating and modelling language with babies and toddlers, during play and routines

How you would provide stimulating environments:

To support and encourage skills such as walking, rolling, crawling

Not including ways to ensure areas are free of potential infection, list two (2) ways you can ensure an area is safe for exploration.
