Status Report for the Final Project, Recommendation Report (RR)--a status report is a report provided to a supervisor part way through a project to let the supervisor know how the work is progressing. Please submit your status report here on the due date. Assignment: Research the potential cause/problem you think your company should focus its corporate philanthropy efforts towards and write a Status Report to update your boss, Tahani Al Jamil, on your findings. Your assignment will be evaluated based on content, organization, format, and mechanics--see guidelines below. I will also give you feedback on whether you are on the right track to proceed with the RR. IMPORTANT: This is the first step in your research for your Recommendation Report (RR), NOT the entire assignment, so follow the directions here carefully, especially regarding content. If you do a good job with your research, you can use it in the first section of your RR. Content: Your content should focus only on the cause le.g. the environment, clean air, education, poverty, arts in schools, homelessness, labor practices). Explain what it is, why it is important, who it affects, why it's a good choice for your company. Do NOT write about your ideas for a method your company could use. You must include at least two, APA-formatted references for the information you present, and they must be parenthetically cited in the text of this status report. Define specific terminology/concepts your reader needs to understand or discuss the cause. . Does it involve specific people, places.? Is it important in South Florida? . Why is this cause relevant? What are its consequences? How big of a problem is it? Use numbers, statistics, dates, and trends. Who else is working on alleviating this problem? Is this cause in any way related to your company--its industry/field/market? Is it more pertinent to your company than other causes? Organization: Include the following sections in this order Introduction (no heading!): Purpose & Preview (state the purpose of this memo; specifically state your chosen cause in introduction: preview main topics) Facts & Findings (give this section a heading): Your research to clarify the requested content above. . Summary & Conclusion (no heading!: Summarize key points PLUS why our company should focus on this cause Format: Use memo format, your company letterhead and +/- 500 words maximum (1-2 pages), single-spaced or 1.15 pt.
