Locate data on a recent demand metric for your favorite organization. This can be any numerical value that reflects demand for four periods (e.g. revenue, sales, expenses, unit volume, etc.). If you cannot find recent info on your organization, see note below to use quarterly revenue data for a publicly-traded organization.

Prepare the following 3-period forecast models for your company as outlined in Chapter 7 of the Coyle et al. (2017) text. Use the 12 most recent periods reported by your company (either months or quarters are okay). (2018-2019-2020)

Simple 3-period moving average forecast

Three-period weighted moving average forecast (use weights of 0.15, 0.25, & 0.6 with 0.6 in the most recent month)

Compile both forecasts using the Unit 4 Demand Forecast Spreadsheet, and post a screenshot of each of your spreadsheets along with a 2 to 3 sentence analysis of your forecast by Day 3 of Unit 4. Be sure to include references for your financial data. NOTE: To find quarterly revenue data for a publicly-traded business

Go to Yahoo Finance.

Enter the name of a publicly-traded firm in the search box and click on the company's stock symbol.

From the Summary Page, click on the Financials Tab just below the stock price. From there you can view the Income State ment, Cash Flow Statement, & Balance Sheet.

Near the top of the Income Statement for your company, click on the Quarterly Data link to retrieve data for the most recent 12 quarters.
