Three of the sessions during the year will be completed in a formal manner. This would be set up as follows: 1. Preparation time between the trainer and trainee  The Trainer will discuss the setup of the session and provide any required documentation. 2. Simulation Time  This is the actual time the scenario will take. This will be determined by the Trainer through scenario development and testing. 3. Follow-Up discussion  This is a discussion between the trainee and trainer to get their thoughts on the scenario, how they felt they did and what things could have been improved. The formal training is designed such that the trainee feels like it is the actual operating environment. The trainee is expected to respond to the event or complete tasks as they would in the ECC. An example of this is making the appropriate calls to field personnel. The Trainer facilitates this by answering all calls and role plays all people in the field. As well, the OTS allows for all the same controls and functions as the real time system. One other important thing here is that the discussion on the scenario does not reveal what events will happen. Things will happen on the OTS just as they happen in real time. During formal training, there is also a lot of involvement from the trainer to facilitate actual power system events
