Throughout this module, you have been learning about developmental milestones, developmental screening, and how to determine when children may need further evaluation. Delays in social and communication development are some of the most common developmental delays identified in early childhood. Therefore, it is essential that early childhood professionals have an understanding of the typical process of language development. In this activity, you will complete two online modules about language development. The first module focuses on how infants learn the sounds of language and how to communicate in the first year of life. The second module focuses on the typical progression of language development from first sounds to full sentences.
