In reading about the various inputs to the Plan Schedule Management Process, I noticed the "Enterprise Environmental Factors (ch 2 of the PMBOK)" is a key input that should be reviewed when planning the project schedule. "Team resource availability and skills" is an Enterprise Environmental Factor that will influence the success or failure of the project. In this week's Canvas Lesson, we learned how the Getta Byte project was broken down into milestones and work packages. Furthermore, the Project Schedule Video presents the key activities required to complete the work packages. An important step to complete the project schedule is the next step is determining the task durations and sequence of these activities. These will depend on the "Team member availability and skills" required to complete the work.

Clearly, two important aspects of the Plan Schedule Management process are:

- determining if the team is "available" to perform the tasks, and

- determining if the team members have the required skills to do a good job in executing the task

If the team members are not available, are too busy, or don't have the required skills, then the project manager should consider OUTSOURCE these resources, by perhaps contracting people with the skills missing or lacking by the Getta Byte team.
