Today, as many as $86\%$ of computer programmers are working from home full$-$time. Those that report to offices are likely to have to collaborate with others working at home or from other offices across the country or even across the world.

This begs the question $----$ how does one effectively manage a technical and truly distributed workforce? This is especially challenging when managers do not have the same expertise or specialized skills as the people they are managing, which is often the case.

As part of this case study, you will identify an effective plan for managing distributed technical teams. Your assignment will consist of a memorandum to leadership, which will address the following questions$----$

How will we safely store our intellectual property, and ensure that it is available to those who need it$,$ regardless of location, time, etc.?

How will we facilitate effective communication?

How will we assign tasks? Ensure people are properly trained? Ensure we have a mechanism to measure the performance of our technical contributors, instill a positive work ethic, and to evaluate them fairly and effectively?

How will we collaborate on immersive projects? How will we ensure people are not over or under utilized?

How will we cultivate an environment of innovation, wherein technical contributors are motivated, engaged, given the necessary tools of their trade, and bought in to a team concept?
