Topic to use to answer question: How does childhood trauma influence the mental health outcomes of adults?

An elevator pitch is a statement that concisely states what your research project is about. It generally answers the following questions: 1. What do we know about xxx? 2. What do we not know about xxx? 3. What is your research questions (or hypothesis)? Many students actually structure their elevator pitches to answer these questions, in order.

FOR EXAMPLE

"Research has demonstrated that women diagnosed with breast cancer suffer elevated depression, and that increased depression leads to lower motivation to follow treatment protocols. We also know that social support reduces depression. [First question addressed] What we don't know is whether social support will increase the probability women will follow treatment protocol.[Second question addressed] We hypothesize that those with stronger social support will reduce depression and, in turn, improve the likelihood women will follow a treatment protocol. [Hypothesis]"

Don't spend time giving background information on the topic. Assume I know what I need to know. Each sentence must be related to the last sentence(s). Every construct mentioned in the elevator pitch should be part of your research project. The "what we know" parts should be backed by scientific literature.
