It should say the following: I hope everyone is looking forward to the upcoming Strategic Planning Meeting in December. I appreciate the opportunity for this important three-hour session through discussions with our Core Planning Team both in-person and through video conference. Strategic planning is the process of establishing goals and developing a roadmap for achieving those goals. Sound strategic planning is essential for the success of our organization and the strategic plan serves as the primary means to communicate the board of directors long-term vision for CanAsian Airlines and establish measurable goals and objectives for achieving this vision. The expectation for CanAsians strategic plan is that it will be a high level plan that will set overarching goals, strategies and objectives for the organization to achieve. The values and vision established for the plan will be timeless in nature. Short-term operational and implementation plans will be prepared for each program identified in the strategic planning process. The operational plans will set the stage for the organizations work for the next 3 to 5 years and will be reviewed every 5 years; the implementation plans will be prepared and or updated annually. A five-phase approach is recommended for the strategic planning process, starting in January of next year with a final plan adopted in 5 years. This involves two distinct efforts: development of operational plans for each program area and an annual implementation plan. The operational plans would have a 3 to 5 year timeline for implementation, and implementation plans would address annual program priorities. The proposed timeline for the completion of the operational plans is October of next year, with budget and implementation plans in place starting July of the following year.
