TUTORIAL 2 Black-Box Testing State Transition Testing Instruction: 1. For each of the following question, you need to: i. Create state transition table. ii. Identify how many test cases to cover 100% test coverage. iii. Write all possible test cases. Question 1 In the system of heating and air-conditioning system (HAC), consider the user will turn on and off air-conditioning and heater depends on the weather temperature. Before that, user need to swiched On the HAC system first. If the temperature gets too hot, user will turn On the air-conditioning until it reaches a required temperature (cooling). When the temperature turn to normal, the air-conditioning and fan is switched OFF (idle). If the temperature gets too cold, the user will turn On the heater and the fan until reaches a required temperature (heating). When the temperature gets normal, the heater and fan is switched OFF (idle). Traffic light system works as follow: Whenever the system start-up, the red light on, and the other lights off. When the red light on, it will on for 10 seconds, then the red light off and the green lights on. When the green light on, it will on for 10 seconds, then the green light off and the orange light on. When the orange light on, it will on for 2 seconds, then the orange light off and the red light on. The input value is the current traffic light colour (either red, green or yellow), and the duration in seconds, whilst the output is the next traffic light colour.
