5) [40 points total] A Navy ship is being renovated; a special highly volatile epoxy paint coating is being used to paint the engine and control room ceilings, walls, and floors. The extreme fumes and stickiness of this paint, combined with the closed, minimally ventilated interior of the ship, will require the contractor to rent specialized ventilated paint suits. These are difficult to source and expensive to rent. Further, the painters have to be specially certified to work with this particular paint in order for the manufacturer's warranty not to bevoid. Theneed to allow the coatings to harden overnight, and for air to be exchanged, limits workers to eight hour shifts. Activities over the next two weeks are shown in the in the table below, which is accompanied by a punctuated-task network diagram for this part of the project.
