Jim walks out of the elevator and goes on to his next meeting. Elevators are required to be inspected annually. This elevator has not been inspected in two years. Later that evening following a rather nasty argument with his wife, Jim decides to file a negligence action against the owner of the building in which the accident took place and the elevator manufacturer.
