How Do I Teach a Lesson with No Participants?

For this class, the Instructional Video Assignment includes the development of a detailed Lesson Plan to provide planning for the development of an Instructional video focused on you practicing the instruction of the lesson.

This may sound difficult at first. But, if you visualize it as practicing your lesson delivery and explaining yourself prior to teaching, you will be on the right track. Most people practiced the lessons "with imaginary or ghost students" prior to teaching in the classroom. If you develop a video that focuses on a "practice run" of teaching your lesson and includes you explaining what you are looking for when the participants are involved, you will meet expectations.

Video Lesson Teaching Expectations:

The expectation is to develop an Instructional Video that looks like the example I have provided on Basketball Shooting Form/Free Throw. Please watch the video for an example and develop your Video Lesson in a similar fashion.

In the video, I had one person serve as a videographer, another serves as a demonstrator, and I provided the lesson delivery. We used a hand-held video recorder with a tripod and only the external microphone on the camera. The expectation is for you to develop a 20-minute video with good audio (good enough so I can hear your instruction - speak loudly) that details important information from your Lesson Plan. You are not expected to develop a professionally produced video, but that is always a plus. If you do not have a partner or two, use your phone's camera or computer's webcam, speak loudly and set it up to see what you are doing.

Please do a short test run on your video and ensure that the sound quality is good enough for me to hear.
