You must seek approval for the automotive repair or manufacturing process you have chosen from the Trainer/ Assessor before you commence this assessment task.
In your report you must document the following, for an automotive repair or manufacturing process:
safety requirements of the process
steps involved in undertaking the process, including:
-use of any tools, equipment and materials
- explanatory graphics (i.e. automotive design)
specifications explaining the requirements that a product or assembly must meet or exceed
bibliography of sources of information.
You will need to complete the job card as well as the Technical Specifications and Procedures Report template
you have been provided with in this section.
Your trainer/ assessor will observe you as you work through completing, this assessment task using the
assessment evaluation tool.
Tools and Materials
Range of reference materials relevant to technical research activities and vehicle specifications and procedures.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Safety goggles or glasses with side shields
Steel-toed shoes
Tight fitted clothing
Vehicle protection
Trainer / Assessor Notes:
1. The student must develop and document (in the form of a report) the technical specifications and procedures of an automotive repair or manufacturing process that would take more than thirty minutes to complete. The student must seek approval for the automotive repair or manufacturing process they have chosen for the purpose of this assessment from the Trainer/ Assessor.
2. The student must complete the Job Card and the Report template.
3. The report should cover specifications and procedures for the following:
safety requirements of the process
steps involved in undertaking the process, including:
- use of any tools, equipment and materials
- explanatory graphics
specifications explaining the requirements that a product or assembly must meet or exceed
bibliography of sources of information.
4. The Trainer/ Assessor must verify performance evidence through oral questioning of knowledge to ensure correct interpretation and application of the specifications and procedures for the automotive repair or manufacturing process.
5. The Trainer/ Assessor must observe the student performing this assessment task using the Assessment Evaluation Tool.
