Part 1 student guidance:
This part asks you to revisit your learning experience of B100 and explain the new insights you have gained in business and management or its practice as a result of your studies on this module. Your account should draw on at least two ideas, concepts or theories from two or more blocks of B100 and provide examples from your professional or other work practice or life in general.
At the beginning of your discussion about a specific theory or concept you could provide a brief description or explanation of it in your own words. You could then elaborate on ways in which the use of these ideas, concepts or theories have influenced your thinking and understanding of business and management and draw on specific examples. You should be specific in your discussion, e.g. simply saying that you understand more about marketing would not meet the assessment criteria for this part of the EMA. However, if, for example, you discuss the usefulness of learning more about marketing mix during your studies on B100 you could meet the criteria for this part of the EMA in the following way:
briefly describe the theory and its key components in your own words
discuss in more detail how it contributed to enhancing your understanding of business and management or its practice
provide an example of how this change in understanding helps you, for example, having learnt about marketing mix you now have more informed conversations with your marketing colleagues, or a visit to the local supermarket helps you think in a more informed way about aspects of the marketing mix, such as pricing, place, promotion etc
