An emphasis on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE & I) continues to gain momentum as organizations increasing work towards the creation of environments and strategies that foster DE & I. In this discussion forum you are invited to offer your perceptions, interpretations, and experiences with such initiatives as you connect you ideas to specific areas of course content. Here you can consider things such as: . Stereotypes, their formation and maintenance and the challenges they present to organizations and the managers within (see pgs. 130-131). . The myriads of ways in which people differ and how the elements of diversity (see Figure 4.5 for a sampling) are often intertwined and play into our respective identities. . Different approaches which include, but are not necessarily limited to, affirmative action initiatives and the practice of managing diversity (see pgs. 137-138 for definitions, the distinction that Kinicki draws between these two particular approaches and their types of managerial actions aimed at realizing desired outcomes. Assumptions re: diversity and demographics (see p. 135) and the identified trends in workforce diversity as outlined on pgs. 140-144. You are encouraged to include discussion on more than one of these considerations. As with all course discussions you are encouraged to draw upon and include your own experiences as you build upon one another's ideas and co-construct new knowledge of what it takes to truly realize DE&I
