User Students will work in small groups while conducting a maximal aerobic capacity (VO2max) test in the exercise science lab. Using the data from their test, students will determine and justify (graphically and written) if the test conducted was a valid VO2max test and the workloads that elicited the ventilatory and anaerobic thresholds. Based upon their analyses students will predict the level/amount of aerobic training and aerobic performance of their subject. Elements of the Analysis Conduct of a maximal aerobic capacity test: Students will explain the process and purpose of test to the subject. They will have knowledge of the proper protocol for the test they intend to use. Students will need to determine if the data produced during the test is appropriate or if recalibration is necessary before proceeding. Students will need to explain when and why a test should be terminated, and the appropriate emergency procedures that should be in place when conducting a maximal aerobic capacity test on a young healthy individual. This will be assessed via instructor observation and questioning prior to, during, and after the maximal aerobic capacity test. Evaluation of metabolic and respiratory data: Each student will use an excel file of the data
