Using a string and ruler, measure the CIRCUMFERENCE and the DIAMETER of 10 round objects such as cans, bowls, lids, etc.

Make a table with the following headings: OBJECT, DIAMETER, CIRCUMFERENCE.

Any units can be used but I recommend centimeters. Be precise and don't round.

Plot circumference vs. diameter.

Find the slope. Either do it manually or use a line of best fit from a graphing program.

Write a brief lab summary consisting of:

The hypothesis

The independent variable

the dependent variable

at least one interfering variable

a brief procedure

your interpretation of what the slope means

In your conclusion state the result (slope) of the graph and tell what you think it means.

Calculate the relative error using the formula below. If you don't know what the accepted value is, ask.
