Using either block or alternating  comparison/contrast structure, analyze ethos, logos, OR pathos (don\'t do all three!) in two texts: please choose among any of the essays in the  book.

Format:

Your paper will be 4 pages long, typed and  double-spaced, on 8 ½ x 11” paper in 12 pt. Times New Roman font.  The  margins need to be 1” on all sides.  Format your paper according to MLA  format.  Note: I will stop reading at 4 pages.  It\'s important to learn  how to revise and edit your work to fit a length requirement--this is  part of the challenge.

Audience:

Your audience for this  paper is a group of people who are interested in your topic, and who  have carefully read the material you have read.  Consequently, you do  not need to spend a great amount of time setting up this background  material.  You only need to dive into your argument.

Sources:

I do not want you to find outside sources (outside of our textbooks) for  this paper.  When you use material from class, make sure that you always include full citation information.  To avoid plagiarism, you need to  cite a source every time you use ideas from that source by putting  borrowed text in quotation marks, by putting the author’s name and page  number in parentheses, and by including a works cited page.  In every  sentence, it should be absolutely clear which ideas are yours.

Please remember that using ideas from a source, even if you checked that  source just for additional information on the subject, constitutes  plagiarism if you do not cite it.  You must cite any idea from a  source and any words from a source with both an in-text citation and a  full citation in the works cited page.
