Using some basic research and critical thinking, you will be investing $10,000 DC Dollars in some Canadian stocks and creating your own stock portfolio in Excel. For the duration of the assignment (a minimum of 7 business days!) you will monitor and record the price of the stocks you have invested in and at the end you will record whether you are "up" or "down". You will write a short reflection piece discussing your choices, your observations and three lessons learned. Assignment Rules: You have $10,000 in DC dollars to spend on stocks from the TSX. You are to spend up to $10,000 on the first day you start the game. You can keep some of your money in cash if you wish, but the goal is to invest as close to the $10,000 without going over! You must spend a minimum of $1,000 from at least 3 different stocks You must record daily the price of the stocks (you should take the closing price each day for consistency) for a minimum of 7 (consecutive) business days. The daily closing price for each stock will be submitted along with your reflection on the due date. At the end of the tracking you will write a short reflection piece explaining: Why you chose the stocks in your portfolio (demonstrating research and critical thinking) What happened to these stocks over the course of the course of the game. What observations you made about the market and the trades for these stocks and three well developed and articulated "lessons learned" about the stock market. You must submit your daily stock prices and your accompanying written reflection to the DC Connect Assignment Drop Box before 11:59pm on the due date. Late assignments will be deducted 20% per calendar day up to 5 days after which a grade of zero will be assigned
