Using the organizational strategic plan you are developing and the sub-strategies (alternatives) you developed as part of your SWOT analysis; you will now use the Rational Decision-Making Model(as present in the Decision Making PPT in the reading section) to analyze and select the most appropriate strategy for your organization. You will be expected to complete the first six steps of the eight-step process.
Identify a Problem
This is the Mission of your organization.
Identify Decision Criteria
You need a minimum of four Decision Criteria.
Each Decision Criteria must be defined.
You must discuss how each Decision Criteria will be rated.
Allocate Weights to Criteria
Rank order the Decision Criteria.
The most important Decision Criteria receives the lowest number (1-5).
You may have ties if two Decision Criteria should be weighted the same in importance.
Develop Alternatives
You completed this step as part of your SWOT analysis.
You should use 4 specific strategies (COAs) SO, ST, WO, and WT.
Analyze Alternatives (Ensure you include the Decision-Making Matrix (DOCX) Download Decision-Making Matrix (DOCX))
Prioritize the strategies (COAs); the best strategy (COA) in each Decision Criteria is weighted as 1, the worst as 4. Again, ties are okay.
Multiply the Decision Criteria Weights by your ranking for the prioritized strategy.
Select an Alternative
A low score wins. That is your best strategy (COA).
