At the end of your philosophy class today, your subscription will automatically renew at the agreed$-$upon price,

unless you inform us that you would like to cancel your subscription. The programmed experience you know by

the name, $"$Dr$.$ Setman", is actually one of our $($artificial$)$ customer representatives here at Cypher Co$.,$ the makers

of The Experience Machine $^($TM$).$ And the programmed experience you are presently having, which you know as "PHIL

$102-$ Introduction to Philosophy", is actually our virtual customer service portal, which all trial members, such as

yourself, agree to experience before entering The Experience Machine $^($TM$).$

We would love to continue serving you the wonderful, experientially

rich life that you personally and voluntarily designed for yourself!

But in accordance with the Trial Membership Terms of Service, we are contractually obligated to give you one

opportunity to unplug from The Experience Machine $^($TM$)$ before your membership automatically renews at the

agreed$-$upon price. We also must inform you that we are legally prohibited from disclosing any information about

your old life to help you make this decision. $^(1)$ But we can tell you some very general information, such as:

The free trial subscription lasts for $7$ days.

Time in The Experience Machine $^($TM$)$ elapses at the same rate as time outside of The Experience Machine $^($TM$).$

The free trial begins at any stage of life the customer prefers, and it comes pre$-$programmed with vivid memories

and pre$-$established relationships $($of the user's choosing$)$ to create the feeling of having lived that number of years.

In truth, however, only the last $7$ days have been directly experienced by the user.

If the user's subscription automatically renews, the user's experience will pick up exactly where it left off in the life

that the user personally and voluntarily designed for themselves.

If the user's subscription automatically renews, it will renew at the agreed$-$upon price, which will depend on the

payment plan selected by the user.

Since this is personal information, we cannot disclose what "old$-$you" agreed to pay, but we can inform you

that the most common choice is an annual monetary subscription $^(2),$ and we pre$-$screen all users to ensure

that they can afford the entirety of their stay $($i$.$e$.,$ until bodily death$).$

Once the user's subscription automatically renews, the user's memory of all these details will be erased so as to

ensure a fully immersive experience going forward, as agreed upon in the trial membership Terms of Service. The

user will continue their wonderful life in The Experience Machine $^($TM$)$ truly and genuinely as if nothing had happened at

all$-$as if this is the one and only life they have ever had.
