$1.$ Identify the issues to be negotiated and their relative priorities.

$2.$ For each issue identify the union$$s underlying interests and the rationale to explain the union$$s issues to the management team.

$3.$ Identify the issues that the management team will propose and their relative priorities.

$4.$ For each management issue, anticipate the underlying interests and the rational to explain management$$s issues to the union team.

$5.$ Identify issues the union would be willing to trade and the issues you anticipate that the management team might be willing to trade.

$6.$ For each issue identify a desire settlement position, an expected settlement position, and a maximum concession position for the union issues and the management issues

$7.$ Assess the environment in which these negotiations are occurring and identify factors which may impact the negotiations.

$8.$ Develop opening statements for both the union and management teams.
