Your task is to draw the current state value stream map based on that information. Focus on fiscal year 2020.

Dear Agilo,

Let me wish you a warm welcome to our team once again! I am sure you will find your new position, product leader for AGILINE, to be very interesting. Could maybe find out for me whether we will have enough capacity for next year?

As part of this exercise, you can draw an Extended Value Stream Map for AGILINE; this would offer us a great insight of where we currently stand.

Please include the total throughput time and what percentage of that is value added. For now you can assume all plant throughput time is value added. Furthermore transportation time, when not specific, is negligible for now. Let us go over this end of the week!

Your manager was happy with your work on the Current State Value Stream Map. Just a week later, he comes back to you with another request in the email below. Your task is to identify potential improvement areas in the current state value stream map. As you identify potential improvements, you can ask the faculty whether further information is available. Many thanks for your hard work on the current state VSM last week, it was very insightful! I was rather shocked to learn that our total throughput time is 470 days, this is far from our target of 172! Could you please research how we can reach our target? Please reach out to people in the network to get the information you need. Please also sketch a future state value stream map, so I can see what it all will look like in the future! The second issue is our packaging plant; now you have found out this will be the bottleneck in 2020, can you find out what we could = do to increase capacity in order to meet demand? best, Sergio
