We are designing a simple machine interface for use in a manufacturing process. The machining step can be performed on parts that are less than inches and longer than inch. Recently the parts have been over length and have been causing the need to shut the tool down so that the part can be removed and the tool reset.
The production manager has asked the automation team to come up with a screening process to minimize the chance of this happening. After some discussion, they agree on the following process.
If we start out with a simple list of actions
Part length is detected by camera system.
Is the length greater than inches?
Is the length less than inch?
If it is out side these limits tell the user so they can remove the part before loading it into the tool.
