We will build a mobile application to tackle a real$-$world problem. The first step is to propose a project to work on throughout the semester within the theme of "Supporting marginalized, vulnerable, and underserved populations". You need to submit the problem statement of your project.

Contents to Include in the Submission

Identify a real problem from the given theme that a smartphone app can solve. To do this, your group needs to brainstorm. In the submission, describe the problem you are trying to solve. Focus on the problem. You don't know the solution yet! In other words: don't state how to solve the problem. Explain the problem and why it is important to solve using a smartphone.

Your description should include:

Who is the target user population?

What problem$($s$)$ does your target user population suffer from that you want to help solve?

Where does the problem stem from? Why does the problem occur?

Why is a smartphone app a proper solution $($e$.$g$.,$ why not a website$)?$

Be specific when answering the questions above. Don't just say save the world or help suffering people. Instead, mention specific problem$($s$)$ you aim to solve with a newly designed mobile app.
