WEEK 3 DISCUSSION BOARD-External Environment In Chapter 3. we learned that changes in the GENERAL EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT could affect different industries in different ways. As we have seen the COVID-19 Pandemic affected almost all industries but in different ways-some in a very negative way and some in a positive way. For example, the airline industry was very negatively affected as most air travel ceased during the early stages of the Pandemic and before vaccines were developed. 1 On the other hand, effects on the home-improvement Industry was positive. During the Pandemic, more people spent more time at home, many worked from home, and many had additional money from government stimulus programs to improve their homes. Identify one other industry that was NEGATIVELY AFFECTED by the COVID-19 Pandemic and one that was POSITIVELY AFFECTED. Explain how one was negatively affected (what Change caused the negative effect). Also, explain how the industry that was positively affected was affected. Consider additional factors that may have also affected the Industry. Also, explain how each of the two industries responded to the COVID-19 Pandemic (what did they do to minimize the effect of the Change). Remember that an Industry is a group of companies that supply similar products and services (e.g., retail I grocery industry, automotive industry, airline industry, etc.). Do not analyze a single company but rather an industry.
