Week 4 Volume Project Instructions ~ Objective: Determine the volume of material required to produce a vessel. This vessel can be any size, and can be designed to contain any substance. It can be a mug, a bowl, or a vase. A pot, a stein, an amphorae, a bottle, a cup, ... Whatever you choose, it must have the following: Requirement 1: At least two equations to determine the inner and outer walls of the vessel (minimum of one for the inside and one for the outside). Requirement 2: Not all lines can be straight. Use domain restrictions so curves don't go on forever. Here's my example showing the cross section. The actual vessel would be rotated around the y-axis: https://www.desmos.com/calculator/plagkquuck Reference: https://support.desmos.com/hc/en-us/articles/203206915-Domain-and-Range-Restrictions Then, use the techniques found in 'Applications of Integration' to determine the volume of material required to produce the vessel. What to Submit: Include the desmos link to your plan (similar to my example above). Include the integrals to find the volume (either a picture, or using MSWord equations). Answer in cubic centimeters. Points will be deducted if a design is too simple, but don't make it too difficult on yourself either.
