Week $6$: Discussion $($Functions$)$

Instructions: Each week in this discussion area, you will be responding to three questions for one healthcare organization. You will be discussing this organizations for the duration of this course. In addition to applying the newly acquired knowledge from weekly assigned readings, weekly live sessions and your experiences, you may need to do research that helps you accomplish your tasks successfully. Last, it is crucial that you keep notes from prior weekly research and discussions as you will need to refer to those in your subsequent weeks.

Valley View Hospital System

In evaluating the opportunity to become a larger health system, Valley View Hospital System is looking closely at ways to improve patient care quality and reducing costs. The hospital administrators have raised some questions pertaining to the optimization of the system. Your team needs to answer them with quality and cost factors in mind. Your task is to analyze the situation based on all the prior decisions made by you, evaluate the system that was selected in Week $3,$ and present your findings regarding the following:

Inventory the functions that are available with the new system.

Note how any of those functions can be optimized $($theoretically$).$

From your multiple ideas for optimization $($completed in Q #$2),$ identify three of them. Present them to Jim with some justifications on why you believe the organization should prioritize the selected three.
