We would like to take a few moments to outline our hopes for this ongoing process. As the management team representing Primo Plastic, we hold a deep respect for the ASPRW and are fully committed to engaging in good faith bargaining with you. The main objective of this bargaining process is to reach a collective bargaining agreement that effectively responds to both parties' requirements and concerns. Ultimately, we wish to see more success for Primo Plastic's Junction Falls plant and its dedicated workers. The Junction Falls plant is currently at a crossroads. Consecutive layoffs reduced employment by 17% in both 2020 and 2021. Junction Falls is under intense pressure to increase productivity and earnings in order to stay in operation. Profits have been declining year after year, and this trend is projected to continue. Several large corporations have the resources to invest a greater amount of research and development as well as product production. Additionally, environmentalists are advocating for stronger government limits on plastic products. These industry-wide issues, along with the recent layoffs at Junction Falls, highlight the need for significant adjustments at the plant. Implementing a high-performance work system is a solution for Junction Falls. This strategy would allow the plant to improve its performance, production, and profitability, avoiding the threat of closure. We, Junction Falls' management, state a must-have of using a high-performance work system that will allow us to revitalize the Junction Falls plant's future. There are many objectives that we, as management are hoping to achieve. The first is that, through labor-management cooperation, Junction Falls can achieve high performance. This will result in reduced costs and an increase in flexibility which will allow us to remain profitable and competitive as we have seen at Breezie Hill. Additionally, it is important that we eliminate our current. inefficiencies and deficits, ensuring that our operations are flexible, and we are able to make expedited transitions throughout our work. We have already seen some success in labor- management cooperation through our JUMP initiative, and we see this as evidence of cooperative and successful relationship between labor and management in the future which has played a role in our pre-negotiation decision making process. Our employees make our business run; however, we would like to make Junction Falls' business even more successful through a transformation into a high-performance work system. This high-performance work system would include both integrated components of the workplace system and individual components of a workplace system. This is our highest priority, and a must-have while moving into negotiations. At other plants, particularly at our Breezie Hill site, we have seen tremendous success with the high-performance work system. We anticipate an increase in sales, productivity, and overall profitability by implementing this work method at our Junction Falls business. The Junction Falls facility's output now trails behind that of the Breezie Hill plant. In addition, both quality index numbers and unscheduled machine downtime have improved at the Breezie Hill plant. Employees will profit if Junction Falls can increase its output through the high-performance work strategy. We would like to take a few moments to outline our hopes for this ongoing process.
