A company's annual review is an important meeting that requires an executive to present the company's performance in the past year and what the future looks like. "The modern-day workplace has evolved dramatically over the last few decades, but one practice that has remained fairly constant is the annual performance review (Bajic, 2015, para. 1). To develop an annual operation review for Hisco, the business simulator has everything you would need. There are many different graphs and financial reports to utilize. But for this discussion, I will focus on the income statement. An income statement shows a companys revenues and expenses during a particular period. Creditors, investors, and many others use the income statement as a measuring stick of how a company has performed, where it appears to be heading, and what its future cash flows will be (Stanko & Zeller, 2003, pg. 67). Hisco has income statements available for every quarter from quarter one in 2019 through the third quarter of 2021. There are two very promising figures in this financial report. Total sales have consistently increased every single quarter compared to the previous. A sales trend like that will be pleasing to see for the stakeholders. The Net Income is slightly different because this figure has been in the negatives every quarter before 2021 before the owner fired his management team. I would imagine twenty-four straight months of negative net income will get most management teams fired. Hisco, in the second quarter of 2021, has finally reported a positive Net Income dollar amount, which continued into the third quarter of 2021. I think ending the year with a third straight quarter with a positive Net Income would be one of the highlights I make in the annual operating review.
