Question:
Compare the performance of an amplifier with an npn circuit to one with a pnp circuit. The npn has B = 300 and VA = 100V while the pnp has ß = 200 and VA = 100V.
(a) In each circuit, find the required resistance to achieve a Q point of Q(3.0V, 3.0mA).
(b) calculate the power dissipated by the npn and the pnp circuits.
(c) Calculate the gain, vo/vi, when each circuit is inserted into the amplifier.
(d) Simulate each case using LTspice.
Usean input amplitude vi = 10mV at a 10kHz frequency and plot a suitable transient plot of theoutput. Use this result to find the gain and compare this with your hand calculation.
