I dont believe the FAF made a mistake in its selection of Joel Black as GASB Chairman. I dont think they took the selection of candidates for consideration lightly and believe they were trying to think outside the box since the selection pool is so shallow. While I understand the logic behind needing a government auditor on the board, I dont think it necessarily has to be the Chair position. I think Mr. Black has the drive and is passionate about GASBs mission. With him brings a different perspective, skill set, and ideas on ways to improve standard-setting.
