What would you consider a difficult problem that you encountered and how did you solve it?
There is never a situation that is difficult for me. I will work hard and persevere until I figure it out.
I am a pretty easy going person so I never really have much conflict or problems with people. However, I do remember once when I was in class and had to complete a team project for a client. The client didnt like it and got in an argument. I had to save the day. It all ended up all right.
One of the most difficult problems I have had to solve was when I was completing a service project for a class. My team was tasked with designing an accounting information system for a local nonprofit. During our final presentation, the director of the nonprofit challenged our research. He and one of my team members subsequently got into a heated debate. To successfully salvage the situation, I needed to calm my teammate down and persuade the client that our research was relevant and credible. By using my strong interpersonal skills and objective evidence, I was able to negotiate a good outcome. The director of the nonprofit came around, accepted our recommendation, and implemented the system.
