When all other variables are maintained constant, an increase in one unit occupancy rate increases average hospital duration of stay by 0.217. The occupancy rate has a substantial effect on the average hospital duration of stay at the 5% significance level, as indicated by the t-stat of 2.54*. When one unit occupancy rate is increased while the other variables remain constant, the average length of stay in a teaching hospital increases by 0.617. At a 5% significance level, the t-stat of 3.21* indicates that the teaching hospital or non-teaching hospital has a significant effect on the average hospital duration of stay.
