As a project manager, the entire project managment process was new to me. Learning how to create the project charter, about project software, creating a Gantt chart, Network Diagram, and the work breakdown structure were all new processes for me. I liked how this class pulled together some of my other operational managment courses, finance, statistics, etc. Using the budget creations to understand and understanding the value of stakeholders in a business helped creat my project charter and project idea. I think going into my next project I will be much more prepared to help with the planning and I'd love to transition into a position to learn more about project managing or leading.

I would have to say the almost all of the topics in this class are things that I have learned! When coming into this class, I thought we would be talking about how to manage a team that is working on a project. Things that I thought would be taught were just delegation, working with team conflict, and how to grow a team. This class definitely opened my eyes to what project management really circumferences and everything a project manager really has to do to make sure the job can be completed. One thing that really stuck out to me was in the first weeks how we talked about project proposals. I had no idea that creating these openings to complet a job were even a thing. I thought that businesses would reach out to companies around the area and complete quotes. This has a different spin as the project managers are trying to submit the best bid for the job so that they can be accepted. I think that is a very interesting way to get a job completed. I wish that this was available for private work so that we could hire a handyman at a steal of a price!

Bath & Body Works Inc and American Eagle Outfitters are the publicly traded companies I will discuss to examine seasonal variation's effects. The publicly traded companies I have chosen and believe experience seasonal variation operate in the retail sector and are impacted by consumer demand and the business cycle. Furthermore, one could investigate publicly traded construction companies, as seasons play a crucial role in completing and taking on projects. Additionally, you could also consider larger market-cap retailers like Walmart or Home Depot. Still, it is my critical speculation that due to their sheer size, diversity, and reach, the seasonal variations experienced would be less severe.
Regarding seasonal variations, "seasonality refers to periodic fluctuations in certain business areas and cycles that occur regularly based on a particular season" (Kenton, 2020). Moreover, seasonal variation is a predictable standard that repeats year to year and can be forecasted for due to its consistency. Concerning the publicly traded companies I have chosen, Bath & Body Works Inc and American eagle Outfitters endure an increased demand for their products during the holiday season, which they forecast for and formulate a business and financial model that is implemented to aid their profitability. As demand for both of their products increases, consequently, so does their expenses since they not only have to carry more goods for the consumers during the holiday season but also fund their delivery of ordered products purchased via their eCommerce platforms. As most of us have ordered goods online during the holiday season, companies state that the delivery of goods might be prolonged juxtaposed with non-peak season delivery. As there is a plethora of data maintained by these enterprises regarding seasonal demand and delivery of products, the firm's forecast for the increase in expenses to deliver products, as well as try to display competence in customer satisfaction by underpromising and hopefully over-delivering.

Coca-Cola has tons of seasonal variations. As every festival rolls around Coca-Cola present its customers with seasonal advertisement. This advertisement reminds everyone that coca-cola is their beverage of choice for the holiday season. Coca-Cola has turned the seasonal variation into a competitive advantage. Coca-Cola product sales skew to warmer weather. Coca-Cola's UK bottler had the largest soft drinks share in the UK and chose a counter-intuitive approach that gave them a surprising competitive advantage. Sometimes Coca Cola will also introduce seasonal flavors. In 2019 they introduced 2 festive flavors for Coca Cola and Sprite. For a limited time, Coca-Cola Cinnamon and Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry are available nationwide in a range of packaging options. Both sparkling offerings bring refreshingly unique twists on familiar tastes for some yuletide cheer. All of these strategies give Coca Cola a competitive advantage even in seasonal variation.
