Effective communication is a process of exchanging ideas, thoughts, knowledge and information such that the purpose or intention is fulfilled in the best possible manner.Simply, the presentation of views by the sender in a way best understood by the receiver. Conveying a message effectively is an art as well as a skill developed after continuous practice and experience (J, Anjali, 2018). Examples of effective communication processes: Speak clearly, maintain an even tone, and make eye contact. Keep your body language relaxed and open. Wrap up with a summary and then stop. Summarize your response and then stop talking, even if it leaves a silence in the room.

Individual factors are the most commonly cited barriers to effective communication. These factors include differing perceptual bases, semantic differences, and status differences, consideration of self-interest, poor listening skills, and issues related to personal space (Hitt, et al, 2018).
